UMUC 1616 McCormick

UMUC 1616 McCormick was originally designed by DNC as a 200K SF Corporate Headquarters for the Hechinger Corporation in 1980’s. After, it was re-purposed by DNC for subsequent tenants Hughes and Raytheon.

When UMUC purchased this property for their growing office and classroom needs, DNC designed the LEED Gold upgrade to the building’s skin and primary building systems, along with the reconfiguration of the interior space to meet UMUC’s program requirements. Building amenities include a full-service cafeteria, auditorium, lobby-lounge areas, conference centers, classrooms, fitness and exercise area. The design features a pedestrian circulation spine and atrium filled with daylight.

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know what a pleasure it has been working with your staff on the Largo Project. The tight schedule and demands that have been made by the UMUC community have made this a difficult project. However, working together as a team, we have all been able to make this a very successful project to date.
