![]() LEED(tm) is a self-assessing system designed for rating new and existing commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential buildings. It evaluates design for environmental performance from a "whole building" perspective over a building's cycle, providing a definitive standard for what constitutes a "green building." LEED(tm) is based on accepted energy and environmental principles and strikes a balance between known effective practices and emerging concepts. Developed and managed by the US Green Building Council the LEED rating system is quickly becoming the most effective method for building owners/developers to respond to growing tenant requirements for more efficient healthy buildings. As the local planning and approval boards begin to offer incentives to developments that achieve a LEED rating, the need for this expertise is fast becoming a professional requirement.
DNC Architects has been a member of the USGBC since 1999 and is proud to be a continuing member of such a pro-responsible-development organization. We are very
familiar with the rating system and are currently working on several buildings with the hopes of
achieving differing levels of LEED rating appropriate to each client and project environment. |
