The following is an overview of a few of our current projects. For more information, please feel free to contact us with your questions.
The Archdiocese of the U.S. Military Washington, D.C. The Archdiocese for the Military is planning the selective renovation of the building located at 3730 12th Street NE, Washington DC. The building currently know as the Society of the Divine Word Religious Dormitory, will house the private quarters of the Archbishop for the Military, a limited number of other clergy as well as visiting dignitaries. The building will also house the offices and support functions for the Archbishop and his staff.
Dulles Town Center Dulles, VA Lerner Enterprises asked DNC Architects to complete a two-story addition to the existing Dulles Town Center Mall. DNC continued the existing mall design to meet a future Nordstrom anchor. J.A. Jones Construction completed the addition August 2002. A sculptural double elevator was also designed for the center court of the mall using exposed elevator components and a glass and steel shaft to transport the large number of shopping families.
Digene Headquarters Additions This
fast growing Biotech Company has already outgrown the 110,000 square foot
facility designed for them by DNC and completed in 2000. Accordingly, the
current project provides an additional 22,000 square feet of extra high
warehouse space and associated lab support space for their North Building
Manufacturing facility. A new arrangement for the loading docks improves the
product flow of the current facility. At the same time the South Building R&D
laboratory facility is being increased by a 10,600 square foot addition. This
latter addition completes the currently asymmetric street façade in
accordance with the original design concept. The existing palette of green
insulating glass, iron spot brick and various textured CMU masonry is
continued in these additions.

Sandy Spring Bank
At the
corner of Rockville Pike and
West Montgomery Drive,
a three story, 31,500 square foot traditionally styled office building
with the Sandy Spring branch bank space on the first floor and their
financial group’s offices on the third floor. A remote ATM pavilion
drive-thru is incorporated in this earlier phase. The Second Phase will
add a five story 126,000 square foot office building and a seven level
structured parking facility designed to accommodate ~540 cars.
Rockville, MD
This is a smart growth
project for The JBG Companies that will ultimately provide over 700,000 GSF
of office and laboratory space within convenient walking distance of the
Twinbrook Metro Station. DNC has developed the master plan, assisted in
bringing the project through MNCP&PC Site Plan Approval Process, and is now
developing the design and documents for the first three buildings, which
total more than 400,000 GSF. The project will include an above-ground parking
structure for 900 cars.
