Former client endorsements have always been DNC's most effective marketing tool. Unsolicited recommendations and positive references are responsible for the majority of DNC's commissions.
"The design prepared by DNC Architects for the Sam's Membership Warehouse is responsive to the building's high profile site, contemporary in appearance, and true to its function as a warehouse retail facility. DANAC could not be more pleased with the way DNC responded to the challenges imposed by the city planning office, the retailer, economic restraints and, as always, the schedule." -- Steven J. Virostek, former Vice President
Lee Development Group "We chose DNC Architects because of their reputation as a leader in their field. From perceptive design and accurate conceptual estimates to expert project supervision, their team has repeatedly delivered for us." -- E. Brooke Lee, III ,CEO
"DNC's design for Phase II of Freddie Mac's Corporate Headquarters complex is an unqualified success. The award-winning building enhances Freddie Mac's corporate image and works exceedingly well with Phase I. Throughout the process, DNC's dedication and willingness to work with the Freddie Mac project team ensured the on-schedule delivery of a functional, cost-effective building." -- William Menda, Director of Real Property / Judy Douglas, Director of Property Development
Mulligan/Griffin & Associates "DNC's many years of experience working with Fortune 100 Corporations has afforded Mulligan/Griffin & Associates, Inc. the ability to offer highly flexible space, with preplanned optional upgrades, which respond quickly to the functional needs of this area's rapidly expanding engineering and R&D users." --George Mulligan, Partner
Alexandria Real Estate Equities, CA DNC evaluated over a million square feet of laboratory space in the Washington Metropolitan Area to assist this rapidly growing REIT with their "due-diligence" research. Additionally, DNC is the Architect for Digene, the first build-to-suit AREE has undertaken in the area. The 110,000 square foot facility accommodates both R&D and Manufacturing. DANAC Corporation, Bethesda, MD For thirty years DNC has provided the Danac Corporation with master planning and architectural services for commercial, office, and retail facilities. We have also provided space planning and interior design services for their tenants. Giant Food, Inc., Landover, MD In the thirty-eight years that Giant has been DNC's client we have provided them with a range of services that include new store and shopping center designs, prototype store plan adaptations, and renovations, as well as the design of unique facilities, such as a bakery, a dairy, a 10,000,000 square foot automated distribution center, and a salvage facility. Hughes/Raytheon Corporations, Reston, VA Throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area, DNC has served several divisions of Hughes for the last eight years and more recently Raytheon. We have worked for them in a variety of capacities including master planning, renovation, space planning, construction documentation, and interior design services. Most of the Hughes projects have been fast-tracked and phased into an occupied building. TrizecHahn, Washington, D.C. (formerly JBG Companies) DNC began serving TrizecHahn with a renovation of an old warehouse converted to provide 80,000 square feet of state-of-the-art laboratory space for FDA. We are now assisting TrizecHahn with the master planning and phased design/documentation of over 1,500,000 square feet of new office and laboratory space in the Twinbrook Area. Kaiser Permanente, Rockville, MD For the past nine years, DNC has provided Kaiser with comprehensive services which include the design of a new headquarters office building in Rockville, Maryland. Rather than building a new headquarters building, Kaiser chose to take advantage of the distressed real estate market in the early nineties. They purchased an existing building for which DNC provided building evaluations and test-fit space plans, leading to full interior design services for the facility. Subsequently, DNC assisted Kaiser with a large number of smaller facility requirements. Marriott International, Washington, D.C. DNC has assisted Marriott for the last sixteen years on a variety of projects including: feasibility studies, building evaluations, the design of a distribution center, and space planning services. DNC has also developed alternative master plans for a 180-acre parcel to assure that MNCP&PC's Sector Plans and the proposed mass transit easements do not unreasonably restrict any future development potential of their site. Mulligan/Griffin & Associates, Rockville, MD Master Planning, site analysis, conceptual design, budget estimating, fast-tracked build-to-suit projects, design of secure and shielded buildings (MGA II & III), and space planning services are just a few of the many services DNC has provided to Mulligan/Griffin & Associates for over fifteen years. DNC has worked on a total of over 3,000,000 square feet of space in Maryland and Virginia.
The Rouse Company, Columbia, MD Over the last twelve years, DNC has served the Rouse Company on feasibility studies, retail shopping centers, renovations, and several other projects including obtaining approval from the Baltimore Planning Department and the Center City Inner Harbor Development, Inc. for the design and construction documents for a 300,000 square feet build-to-suit high-rise office building within the Inner Harbor. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore, MD Although never directly contracted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, DNC has maintained a good working relationship with the USACOE for ten years. DNC has undertaken a variety of projects for private developers, most recently the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. These projects have included an underground blast-resistant data center and a secure office fit-up. During the complete renovation of 50,000 square feet for the REOSA Armed Forces Office, DNC hardened the building perimeters, specified security systems, and provided full interior design services that included the specification of furnishings through custom portraits and china for the cafeteria. U.S. Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. In a joint-venture with the Charles H. Tompkins Company, DNC's submission was judged by USDA to provide the Government with the highest value for the budget allocated by USDA. Unlike most competitively bid design-build projects, and due to the unique structure of the solicitation, DNC was able to offer USDA a more traditional, in-depth working relationship in which the team both developed the project design to best accommodate USDA's needs and maintained the project budget. Subsequently, as a part of a larger team, DNC is providing continuing services for USDA. West*Group, Inc., McLean, VA In the last twenty years, DNC has undertaken many projects with West*Group including master planning, conceptual design and estimating, feasibility studies, code analysis, build-to-suit, structured parking facilities, and the design and documentation of over 3,000,000 square feet..
