Partnered with contractors for over 30 years, DNC has learned to develop designs that are responsive to the owners requirements, while meeting the general contractor's schedule and budgetary limitations.
DNC in conjunction with the Charles H. Tompkins Company completed a design-build, fast-tracked, 158,000 square foot high-tech, technology and operations center for Riggs National Bank in Prince George's County, Maryland. Authorized to start design in March, Riggs began occupying the facility 15 months later the following May. DNC was responsible for designing the shell building, incorporating the interior fitting-up, and assisting facilitate jurisdictional approvals to meet the expedited delivery schedule.
In a joint venture with Tompkins Builders, DNC was selected to design and build an efficient four building, 30,000 square meter headquarters office complex for the United States Department of Agriculture in Beltsville, Maryland. The design submitted by DNC clustered four buildings and an entry facility around a mature stand of hardwood trees that provided an amenity for the building occupants. Special facilities included a thermal ice storage system, an electrical substation, and raised flooring throughout. The DNC-Tompkins Joint Venture design was awarded the contract by USDA for providing the government with the highest quality product for their allocated budget.
International Machinist Association - Conference Center The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers has an existing Educational Center located in Hollywood, Maryland. This facility includes seventy-five dormitory rooms, classrooms, breakout areas, an auditorium, indoor and outdoor dining accommodations as well as a number of athletic facilities on site. The program for the expansion includes the addition of forty double-occupancy dormitory rooms, approximately 10,000 square feet of public space, two large classrooms and a computer room. It is currently planned that the expansion will occur to the northeast of the existing main building.
